I am so keen on slacker radio as it allows me to create a playlist according to my taste by searching my favorite artists and add them to the playlists. I really enjoy that. The only fly in the ointment could be that slacker does not offer to save its radio directly. Thus I hope you guys could help me with that.

I am sure that, for most radio lovers, you are not unfamiliar with slacker radio. Slack radio, similar to other famous streaming radio providers, such as Pandora, Spotify or Rdio, is well designed for offering users millions of music. More personalized is that, you can ban a specific song in general or block the artists you dislike most from showing up again in your slacker radio. Besides, you can even add the songs you like to create your own stations.
However, the only downside is that it does not provide to download the radio you like to your computer, anyway it’s not that bad since I will give you two options on how to download music from slacker radio.
Apowersoft Free Online Audio Recorder
Apowersoft Free Online Audio Recorder, as its name implies, is a free and online audio recorder that aims at recording any sound from computer sound card and microphone or both. Better yet, while recording music, it will automatically identify the audio track information of the file that being recorded. Thus, undoubtedly it could be a good option to record slacker radio, here follows the detailed steps on how to do it.
As soon as you load the webpage of Apowersoft Free Audio Recorder, you will notice the “Start Recording” button, just click it and then a java applet will pop up. Next, after hitting “Run” of this java applet, this free audio recorder can be launched. After that, you can changes the settings in “Options” from the dropdown list of “Tools”. Once you have made all the settings as you need, you can start to record what you want by clicking on “Record”. Then go to slacker.com and search for the radio you are interested in. Play the radio you have chosen. In this way, your recording can be saved by clicking “Stop”.
Station Ripper allows you to record Internet radio stations and broadcasts, also applies to record slacker radio. And the amount of recording songs within 24 hours can be as much as 4000-6000, but one of the premises of it is that your Station Ripper must be a registration version that costs $19.99.
However it’s not as intuitive as Apowersoft Free Online Audio Recorder since you have to make some setup on your browser. Before you start to rip slacker radio, you need to configure your browser to use the StationSniffer proxy. (Refer here for more information on specific setup of your browser: http://www.stationripper.com/pandora.htm )

Much appreciated! And I have to admit, the free audio recorder you recommend has a simple interface that’s easy to get used to. While, it could be much better if it has more functions like Audacity.
- Chole : If you are looking for a slacker radio recorder that offers more compelling features, then Streaming Audio Recorder will appeal to you. Streaming Audio Recorder is more than an audio recording program, it can also be an audio editor, audio converter, CD burner, ID3 tag editor etc. Plus, compared with Audacity, its interface is much more simple that features for both beginners and professionals.
