What is Exif?
Exif or Exchangeable Image File Format is the basic type of file (as per JEIDA/JEITA/CIPA classifications) that contains all the necessary information of images and sound files captured from digital cameras, smartphones, and other scanners. This typically stores the date and time the image was taken, exposure time (shutter speed), ISO setting and the aperture number.
It supports different formats like JPEG 2000, PNG, and GIF. Some formats utilized extra metadata tags. JPEG uses discrete cosine transform (DCT) for compressed image files, while the TIFF Rev. 6.0 (RGB or YCbCr) is for the uncompressed files. When it comes to audio, RIFF WAV is partnered with Linear PCM or ITU-T G.711 μ-Law PCM to keep uncompressed audio and IMA-ADPCM for the compressed one.
Quality
The size of the converted JPG file is proportion to the quality. The higher quality means the larger size while the lower quality means the smaller size. You can select the quality as per your need.
